Natalo Si Pacquiao! ( New PHOTOS added)

Mom and Dad,

-I finally got the big box of clothes!! ( sent this box in late March!)  I got letters from Eliza Latimer and Sister Lee. Thanks!!

Well I woke up today to a "national day of mourning"!!    The national hero Manny Pacquiao, World Welterweight  Boxing Champion has fallen! You all may not have even heard back at home, but it's a pretty big deal here! As is normal with the day of a Pacquiao fight, Sacrament meeting attendance was down. We were outside walking when he lost and I saw a little 5 year old walk out of his house in tears screaming "Natalo si Pacquiao!" (Pacquiao lost!) One of the Elders here is Tongan but looks kind of like he might be  African American, and because the guy that beat Pacquiao was African American, this Elder has  had a ton of drunk guys yelling at him all day yesterday.

Well It’s been a good week. I feel like I'm kind of figuring out what to do with some of the issues in my Zone. We have one Elder in particular that seems to be struggling with the Mission Rules My companion and I are going to work with him and some of the other Elders. We will love them, not judge them, and do our utmost to serve them and love them.

Well our 15 yr. old girl that is investigating the church  had her baby this past Wednesday!! We visited them on Tuesday night and she was in so much pain. They texted us at 5:45 am and asked us to come to the hospital! We went and were sitting outside with the brother who is an investigator. This young girl had a difficult birth but it appears that everything is alright. There were a a couple of moments  when we were really worried! I don’t know what will happen to her or her boyfriend with regards to the church but I am sure the Lord has a plan.

We have two baptisms coming up this Friday! One is a 10 year old from a returned Less-Active family, and the other is a 21 year old young man from a part-member family. We also have one coming up on June 30 for a 19 year old young man! I have attached a picture of him to my letter. He drives one of the railroad bikes.

I’m really happy to be here and to serve. This calling and area is exhausting in every aspect, but I'm loving it. I know that this is the Lord's work. I've felt his love and his support for me so much this week. He's really lifted me up in some hard times this week. I read this week in the Book of Mormon in Alma where Alma was rejected from the city of Ammonihah and as he's feeling depressed, an Angel appears to him and says:
"Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore, lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice; for thou hast been faithful in keeping the commandments of God from the time which thou received thy first message from him."

The scriptures then say that  Alma "speedily" returned. Sometimes we are down and discouraged, but the Lord will strengthen us, be on our right and on our left to bear us up. If in our trials we rely on Him, he will make us strong to do whatever He would have us do.

I love you all!!

Love,  Elder Yost
